About Us

We have had a lot of fun and enjoyment with our family. They are raised inside the house, However, most of the time they are on the couch and or in our bed under the cover. Or in Ray’s Lap.

I had a Rat Terrier when I was a child. When I grew up and wanted my own dog, I could not remember the type of dog she was. So I searched for almost 20 years (OK, maybe it was 30, I’m no spring chicken!) before I discovered my dream dog was a Rat Terrier. Well, as you can expect, I went out and found my dog, Tootsie. The breed type was just as I remembered, smart, fun, loving and agile. What I love most about Rat Terriers is that they are GREAT family dogs. I will never be without one, or 2,3,4 or 5 Ok that is enough. LOL

Well Tootise is will be 14 years old in Oct. Still going strong. Still plays, is ready to go and most of all happy. She does have a bad day here and there, but don’t we all.

As a breeder and a lover of Miniature and Standard Rat Terriers in California, we are out to breed the best and healthiest dogs/ puppies that we can by being a breeder. We strive to breed for conformation, for I believe that when you breed for conformation, you will have a healthier happier dog in the long run. Lets see how long it takes someone to steal that from my web site. OK I'm bad. We show our dogs and attend Go to Ground and Terrier Races (and anything else we can think of!) and now Weight Pull with Echo and Hero. Besides being great competitors, they also make great working dogs and companions. Let me show you what I mean. These pictures throughout my website show how they are raised, loved and cared for, and the pictures tell it all.

Ka Zoo is retired from having puppies. She had milk fever just one time to many, and we just don’t want to lose her.

The picture of Ka Zoo is of course when she was  about a year old. She is now 9 years old. Still is her daddy’s dog, and so much Diva.

We ended up having so much fun at the dog show and other events, that we started a local Rat Terrier Club. It has been a Blast!!!! We have truly enjoyed all the people, the help, the laughs and the fun. (And the laughs again). I believe everything happens for a reason, and I think this club was meant to be. The Central Valley Rat Terrier Club has grown and become so much a part of our family. It has been a great teaching and learning experience for everyone. We all seem to help each other as much as we can. We put on events we call "fun days". We camp-out and have lots of fun events like ball toss, terrier races, lure coursing, agility games, go to ground and any other game that will keep the dogs AND us entertained

Next we kept our Prince Louie, the little guy that stole my husband’s heart. Prince has turned out to be a Miniature.  He is such a great little guy. Prince is learning to retrieve the Frisbee and tries real hard to take it away from his sister. Well, Prince is all grown up now and has done really well. He started his show career and became a Champion in 9 months. We went to the Premier in MI. and he kicked Ka Zoo’s butt twice!! He got a Group 4, which is very good. He just loves to go in the show ring and strut his stuff. It is really cute watching him out there with the big dogs. The terrier group was a big thrill for us. We actually had no idea what we were doing and I think that's what made it so much fun. Well, Prince ended up being the # 1 Rat Terrier, and, I think it has gone to his head. Now he walks around here like he owns us. Over the years we have had quite a few dogs that have placed high on the Top Ten List. I will not just put any dog in the show ring. I only want the best, and show far we have done that.

Cutout prince

Prince is 8 years old and everyone wants to have him. His personality is the huge cute factor. He still makes you smile and laugh. He just thinks that he is the cutest most adorable dog that there is. Ok he is close, in my eyes.

Echo is 3 years old. With about 40 BIS and about 40 RBIS’s under his belt. It has been a blast for Ray to show him. Echo has turned out very nice with many judges telling us that they can not find a fault on him and his movement is just beautiful.

Echo is a puppy out of Yahoo - YaYa and Doodles that my husband just had to have.  He has a wonderful personality and he really enjoys showing. He is a service dog and has traveled on planes and through airport and loves it.

For 2008 Echo finished #2.

In 2007 Echo finished # 1 in fact he did but sometime in February, the # 9 dog lost 11 points and the # 2 dog gained 11 points. It just shows the ethics of some people and judges.

We are very proud to announce that Echo finished #9 on the Top Ten List for 2006 with only 3.5 months of showing.

Ray has also been working on other titles on him. I think he wants to see how many he can get.

Hero, I say that with a smile. I think I really needed here. She is a lover, a pain, happy let’s play, bite your toes, Pick on the other dogs, steals everything from the other dogs. A true water dog, conformation, Weight pull dog, better that Echo. She just goes for it no matter what. And is always happy.

We also consider ourselves to be hobby breeders. we strive to breed for conformation, for I believe that when you breed for conformation you will have a healthier happier dog in the long run. We have not had a little in almost 3 years. Due to the fact that again we only want to breed the best. But maybe next year.

We don’t breed our female dogs until they are 2 years old, if then. And we will only breed them once a year. If we feel that they are in perfect condition to be breed. And if we have the right male to breed too.

Yes there is a lot of show pictures and show talk but Ray and I have fun at it. It is our fun, but that is not the only things we do with our dogs. It helps you understand that you can have beauty and a working dog and a companion all in one dog. Yes, you can have it all! I know we do. They are “All in One Dogs”. Lets see how long it takes for someone to steal that saying from my web site. 7-18-05.
